Meet Nicole Kofman
Welcome!
Hey there, I'm Nicole and welcome to my website where you can find resources on mental health, motivational videos, my photography, and more. For whatever reason you may be on my website, my hope is that you're able to take away some encouragement and inspiration.
About Me
I'm 23 years old and am a passionate advocate for mental health. I've spent the majority of my life in Santa Rosa, the North Bay region of California. While some may debate its inclusion in the Bay Area, I can attest to the welcoming atmosphere that Santa Rosa offers, which has been my home for the past nine years.
My journey towards becoming a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist began with a strong belief in the importance of mental health. It motivated me to pursue an Associate's degree in Psychology from the Santa Rosa Junior College (SRJC). This educational experience not only solidified my understanding of the field but also ignited my desire to make a meaningful impact in the lives of others.
Determined to expand my knowledge and skills, I continued my educational path at UC Irvine. It was there that I immersed myself in a challenging yet rewarding program, ultimately earning my Bachelor's degree in Psychology. Concurrently, I dedicated myself to working as a part-time Registered Behavior Technician, where I gained invaluable hands-on experience in supporting individuals with diverse needs.
Afterward, I worked as a Mental Health Technician, which marked a significant milestone in my professional journey. This role allowed me to further contribute to the field of mental health while providing direct care and support to those in need. I had the opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of individuals struggling with mental health challenges.
Currently, I am a Case Manager, providing comprehensive support to individuals navigating their mental health journeys. I collaborate with healthcare professionals to create personalized care plans, facilitate access to resources, and be a passionate advocate for my patients. My goal is to empower individuals to take charge of their own mental health for a more fulfilling future.
As I continue to pursue my dream of becoming a therapist, I remain committed to enhancing my knowledge, refining my skills, and providing compassionate care to those who seek support. Through my experiences, education, and unwavering dedication, I aim to empower individuals on their healing journeys and foster a community where well-being thrives.
If you have any questions, thoughts, or simply want to connect, I would love to hear from you. Feel free to reach out to me or connect with me on social media.
Together, let's break the stigma surrounding mental health and build a brighter, more resilient future.
Why Taking a Moment?
In my senior year of high school, I created the first Mental Health Club on campus. When discussing what the club was about, I found out that there's many stigmas surrounding mental health. Instead, to sum up what the main takeaways were, I changed the name to 'Taking a Moment' which highlighted the importance of self-care and self-awareness in maintaining good mental health. 'Taking a Moment' served as a reminder to literally take a moment and check in with ourselves to become aware of our thoughts and feelings, especially when feeling stressed or overwhelmed.
